One day, a figure dressed in martial-arts attire with long, flowing white hair down to his waist appeared and introduced himself as the Heavenly Demon.
How many people could simply accept that as the truth?
Fortunately or unfortunately, I was one of those people.
“Why are you suddenly silent, you fool?” the figure asked, looking down at me with a calm expression.
“Are you frightened, poor thing? Don’t worry. I’m not in a bad mood, so feel free to speak.”
In the 21st century, if someone talked like this, you’d think they had escaped from a psychiatric hospital.
I asked again politely, with my hands clasped together, “Ah, I’m sorry, but could you please repeat your name?”
“It seems hard to believe, so I will tell you again, you fool.”
As he clasped his hands behind his back, his sleeves fluttered impressively.
Yes, the sleeves ‘fluttered’.
A scene utterly impossible to produce with modern clothing. Also, I hardly heard anyone else calling me a fool.
Dressed in what seemed like a costume from a martial arts novel, his hair not appearing to be a wig and even better maintained than our female idols at the agency.
He stood straight, looking down at me without any hint of the modern affliction known as ‘tech neck’.
His next words carried an odd credibility despite the arrogance coming from him.
“I am the Heavenly Demon, Wih Wajin.”
“Wow…”
For the record, I wasn’t impressed that he claimed to be the Heavenly Demon.
It was more that someone with such an impressive appearance could say anything crazy, and it would still be worth listening to.
Ordinarily, one would think this was an extreme cosplay concept of being a Heavenly Demon.
However, after considering various circumstances, I concluded he really was the Heavenly Demon.
These circumstances included his ancient outfit and an intimidating air emanating from his unnaturally red eyes, along with sleeves and hair that fluttered without any breeze.
Not to mention, this man had just broken through our office window, and we were on the fourth floor.
Yes, this man, claiming to be the Heavenly Demon, had broken into our office just five minutes earlier and stood boldly in front of my desk.
I’ve seen enough web novels where extras confront such characters with bravery and ended up badly. I was not going to be that foolish.
To introduce himself so boldly as the Heavenly Demon, if he wasn’t real, then he must be mad, right?
But I’m immune to such things.
Why? Because I’ve been an idol manager for eight years.

The idol group I manage also embraces such a concept-heavy approach.
They’re called the Nine Sects because they were martial arts-themed idols.
“Are you managing these ‘Nine Sects’ people then?”
“I do manage them, but it’s just the name of the idol group.”

The Heavenly Demon continued with his lips curling into a proud smile.
“I will join them too.”
